Tornado Aftermath!

I am having a hard time dealing with the facts of what transpired here the night of February 5th.

As we always do when there is "bad weather" we tune in the local yahoos weather station to listen to what might happen type of forecast.

I look at the weather map as they show it and it looks like it is going to slide to the north of us, well I was right it did, but by only 300ft way to close!

We heard the roar, the lights went out, we all were in the floor in the bathroom when our ears popped like we were coming down in an airplane, then we heard the breaking of glass....... then, silence..................... not a sound!

Coming out of the bathroom I went to see what glass broke and we found a tree branch had been shot through the bedroom window, glass all over the place! we also found the back sliding glass door shattered. Going outside it was so dark but we could see the houses across the street had the carports sagging. On a round around the building we could not get into the back yard as the fence had been knocked down, the big tree in the back yard was not there! it was now moved into the neighbors yard.

Little did we know the extent of the damage till we came outside the following morning to be greeted to the mess left behind by an F4 tornado in all directions we could see damage and total destruction, but in all of this no one was hurt in our neighborhood? Here is a gallery of images from "the day after" the one image on this page if you look close you will see a Lexus and a restored Corvette lying under a pile of rubble.

The gallery is large so allow time for it to download all the images.

Flash Back

Well here we are 2008 and I am still at it taking photos. I have developed a style and I have been working to get it perfected.

I look back and I see that I started doing the "studio" thing back in January 2006 and my first subject was Shawn, now I look back at the images from that day I am so surprised at the amount of distance I have came...

I owe so much to her for getting me going again on this passion I call photography, I have to shoot it just feels right! But I have to do it my way, and she along with a long list of others that have been here to help me come up with a style that is in short "breathtaking"

Mood.... that's what I try to set with my lighting and the way I capture the images and I hope will go on long after I am gone. I try to make a mark that someone will be able to look back at and say that I created a mood or stirred a feeling.
